Overview:

The position of CNC Machinist is intended for a motivated candidate with strong fundamentals and quality experience. The candidate should have a job shop background with machine and fixture setup, program proofing, and operation experience. This individual will be responsible for operating CNC equipment, proving and running programs, and building/ setting up fixtures without assistance. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a world class additive manufacturing team in a company that offers stability, and high growth.  The candidate should be a true self starter and self motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and run CNC 3, 4, and 5 axis and horizontal machining centers
• Mentor and guide less experienced machinists
• Periodic programming at the controller; willing to learn CAD/CAM Software
• Prove programs and create finished parts without assistance
• Inspect parts and make accurate records of inspections as required
• Maintain high level of machine care and preventative maintenance
• Uphold a high degree of a work-area cleanliness and organization (daily and weekly)
• Maintain accurate and legible records of production work and results
• Understand and uphold Beehive Industries’ product realization process
• Keep traveling documentation with parts and refer to traveling documentation for workflow
• Assist in shop-related tasks in support of team efforts
• Uphold Beehive Industries quality management system policies and procedures
• Understand and write macro programs
• Understand sub programming

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Experience machining exotic metals
• Experience working in a job shop
• 8+ years of experience in CNC setup and operation
• Experience running Haas CNC machines
• Comfortable running .0005” tolerances
• Strong in machine and fixture setup, indicator tools, program proofing
• Possess solid understanding of G-Code programming language
• Can be trained to adopt Beehive Industries’ methods and practices
• Strong technical skills in GD&T & blueprints
• Customer service / interaction experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Self-driven individual with ability to work in a team-based collaborative environment where priorities often change and get reprioritized

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience running Makino CNC machines – pro 6 control
• Machinist Certificate/Diploma
• Familiar working in a fast paced highly agile work environment
• Experience working in a AS9100 environment
• Experience running wire EDM
• Experience machining additively printed parts
• Flexible with ability to work long hours when needed
